In 2005, Creative Partnerships hired Ruth as part of their Cultural Cargo project.
“Seven young people aged 14 – 18 from across the South West, nominated because of their involvement in creative, cultural or sporting activities and the qualities of teamworking and leadership they have displayed, have undertaken a unique sea journey aboard ship as part of a Creative Partnerships project.”
“The young people covered the following National curriculum areas during the voyage: Citizenship, Geography, History, Information and communication technology (ICT), Personal, social and health education (PSHE), Physical education (PE).”

“Not only are these seven young people learning how to sail a 90ft ship, but along the way they are being asked to reflect on some big questions; they are learning about each other; and all the way along they will be in communication with the other schools via a video satellite link-up. This is a journey of learning, growth, communication and discovery on many levels.”
