Join the crew of Ruth for a holiday with a difference. As a crew member you will take part in all the activities aboard a traditional sailing ship. All skill levels are catered for, from complete novice to experienced sailors. Whatever your level of ability you will learn something new aboard Ruth, and have great fun doing it!

We offer a great selection of sailing holidays throughout the year. Here are some examples of the different holidays we offer.

Bristol Harbour Festival
Penzance Harbour to Bristol Harbour – 4 days

Leaving Penzance Harbour we sail westwards along the Cornish Coast, past the Longships lighthouse and around Lands End. Our journey takes us up the west coast of England and Wales towards the Bristol Channel, which we enter on our approach to our destination Bristol Harbour. This voyage takes in the magic of the Cornish Coast, the wildlife of West Wales and arrives to a warm welcome from visitors to the Harbour Festival. Stay onboard for the weekend to enjoy the festival, or jump ship to journey home with great stories and great memories.

Brittany
Penzance Harbour Return – 7 days

This voyage begins with an overnight sail from Penzance to the Brittany coast. Our time in France is spent day sailing around the Brest Peninsula and along the Aulne Canal, stopping at picturesque ports along the way. There are opportunities to go ashore and visit new places, and shop for French wine to bring home.

World Gig Championships, Isles of Scilly
Penzance Harbour Return – 3 days

The World Gig Championships are a spectacular annual event. This voyage allows passengers to see the races at close quarters with none of the hustle and bustle on the shoreline. Evenings can be spent ashore to enjoy the atmosphere and celebrations, or may be spent in relaxation aboard Ruth.
