Ruth is available for charter for film and TV productions. She
is an ideal vessel for historical documentaries and period
films. Ruth can also be chartered with an experienced marine
co-ordinator for productions.
The skipper, Topsy, has been involved with various films and
pieces of TV over the past 10 years. During the filming of
the recent Hornblower series on television, Topsy skippered
the “Grand Turk” which appeared in the series
as the “Indefatigable”. This was in addition to
skippering the “Julia” also used in the series.
During the second and third episodes he acted as the marine
co-ordinator overseeing the training of actors and extras
and advising on all nautical aspects of the programme.
Other work includes making “Great Expectations”
by the BBC and the films “Longitude”, “Nelson’s
Navy”, “Shaka Zulu”, “Random Passage”
and “Terra Nostra”. Topsy has also worked and
advised on several documentaries.
In 2004 Topsy spent several months in South Africa working
as marine advisor on a BBC/Tightrope Films production “To
The Ends Of The Earth”.
